CLARISSA'S NEW BUSINESS CROWNS IT ALL
Getting her own business up and running is the jewel in the crown as far as former art and design student Clarissa Rolfe is concerned.
For the 25 year old Londoner is using her creative skills to make individually designed tiaras for weddings.
Clarissa says that 2001 brides are wanting to "get dressed up with all the trimmings and she makes sure that her designs compliment the gowns that brides will be wearing on their big day.
She's been showing her work at bridal exhibitions in London, and is hoping to expand her range and to sell her work in other parts of the country.
One of her favourite creations, is a sparkling "fairytale" theme crown which is studded with tiny. silver beads and coloured crystals. "I usually show that off at exhibitions, and it is a crowd puller," said Clarissa ."There's still a lot of romance around and a decorative, beautiful
headdress that is almost like a piece of jewellery is incredibly popular."
Clarissa, says that her tiara's can take anything "from four hours to four days or more' to make, depending what the client requires and how ornate the piece is.
She uses silver and gold plated wire as a base, and once she has decided on the
shape, the rest follows.
