HONEYMOON

The Planningparot.jpg (30182 bytes)
This is normally a trip of a life time so make sure you plan and book your honeymoon well in advance. Something couples sometimes forget to do, is to make arrangements with someone to collect their wedding day clothes as suitcase space is properly limited. Remember that if you are not going away on the night of the wedding you may want to book a local hotel, it maybe a good idea to stay at a different hotel than where your reception was held, this gives you a feeling of privacy, however some hotels may offer you a discount on your room if your reception is being held there so the choice is yours. The other thing to consider is if you are leaving for your honeymoon the next day you may want to book a hotel near the airport.

The Booking
Booking your honeymoon and destination requires careful though, first which date is more important the wedding or the honeymoon, does the honeymoon need to follow the wedding or are you happy to wait a while. The reason behind these question are due to holiday seasons and weather, The busiest months for wedding are July and August however this ties in nicely with the rainy season in the tropics and with the start of the tourist season in Europe. Some couples have a short break rather than a honeymoon as such, then at a later stage have their dream holiday/Honeymoon.

Firstly, keep within your budget, there is no point in travelling half way around the world just to be confined to your room due to lack of funds. When arranging your honeymoon remember that all details will need surnames, so a good idea is to use the brides maiden name unless you have time to change all documents needed, another good tip on arranging your honeymoon is to let the travel agent know its your honeymoon, they may be able to upgrade you or at least give you a free bottle of bubbly. As with all travel plans make sure you have insurance and medical protection and those all important vaccinations.

My bags are packed I'm ready to go......
Packing a bag is a art in itself but having spent most of my life overseas here are a few hints.

Red_BallA.gif (135 bytes) Firstly rap all breakables in plastic bags then place in a sock or shoe for padding.
Red_BallA.gif (135 bytes) Shoes and the likes are better in a holdall.
Red_BallA.gif (135 bytes) Lay your smart clothes at the bottom (flat) with tissue between the layers.
Red_BallA.gif (135 bytes) Socks, knickers, underpants and shorts can be rolled up and placed down the side.
Red_BallA.gif (135 bytes) What about a case within a case, back the smaller case then place inside a slightly larger case, so when you buy all  those souvenirs you will have somewhere to pack them. Dirty clothes also take up more space than you think.
Red_BallA.gif (135 bytes) Carry a good size holdall. (rather than a handbag) for your documents and other valuables you want to keep by your side also a change of clothes just in case and don,t forget the makeup.
Red_BallA.gif (135 bytes) Mix your clothes rather than having a his and hers suitcase just in case one goes missing.
