THE GUEST LIST

Nowadays it is more common for the costs to be shared between both sets of parents so discuss with them a budget for the day. When you have decided upon how much money there is to spend, write a guest list, involving the parents. But remember - it is your wedding and the final list should be decided by yourselves.

Most good stationers will be able to provide you with samples of invitations. These are always good to look at and will assist with the wording on your own invitations. Many small print shops now specialise in wedding stationery packages. Check out your local supplier lists to see if there is one in your area - you may be able to e-mail them and get a sample pack back by return.

You will also need to discuss the wedding gift list. This can be a list of all the items you would like, or you could hold a list at a department store such as Debenhams or Marks and Spencer. Alternatively you could always ask for vouchers if there is a certain item you are saving for.
